  you can see this thing happening on a fairly regular basis: Some dude shooting a gun inside a car. If you have ever been in a car with the windows closed and someone shuts the door just a little too fast you get that really uncomfortable pressure on your eardrums, dont you? Now imagine being in the same enclosed space and suddenly there is a big ball of quickly expanding gas also inside…. Yup, everybody in the car will be leaping out for a roadside barf in agony and with blood streaming out of their ears.
